Welcome to the exquisite solo piano music of New Mexico composer Kathleen Ryan ~
~ music that goes deep, that gets into the heart of things, into your heart ~
~ music that comes from such a still place that it seems to be singing a song
~ that you yourself know and forgot that you know ~
~ music that comforts and inspires at the same time ~
~ music as a doorway to silence.
For Kathleen, creating a new piano solo has more to do with listening than with playing or writing. The music comes from the silence, not from the sounds. And such music leads back to silence again.
Listen to samples of her piano solos here (or by choosing album titles at right).
